 Winter/Spring Programs

Winter Middle School/High School Programs: starts the week of November 27th through February 4th.  Classes are eight sessions (no classes Dec. 18-Jan. 1): At no additional costs "open cage time" will be available during Holiday breaks for HS players enrolled in VBC winter programs. 

Spring Middle School Hitting, Pitching, and Catching: starts the week of February 8th.  Classes are six sessions.

Spring In-Season MS/HS Hitting: starts the week of April 8-May 13th.  Classes are eight sessions.

PROGRAM TYPE DESCRIPTION
MS/HS Baseball Hitting

This program meets once a week for 60 minutes. Players will rotate through the cage stations with a focus on visual tracking, pitch-speed adjustments, upper body mechanics, and lower body mechanics. Hitting techniques are applied appropriately to individual's style of hitting, strength, and body type. Players are grouped by age and skill level. 8th graders welcome. 3:1 ratio in each class.  Instruction is led by HS coaches, college coaches, and former professional players. 

MS/HS Baseball Pitching
Only 4 players or less per class. This program meets once a week for 60 minutes. Body conditioning, warm up, and arm strengthening each class.  It is designed for pitchers to receive extensive instruction in throwing mechanics and pitch development. Each pitcher receives plenty of bullpen time with instructor. Players are grouped by age and skill level. Click here for more details.
MS/HS Baseball Overall  Saturday Night Special. Players hit, pitch and field during the 90 minute session.  Instruction led by GMHS Head Coach Adam Amerine and Dan Pototsky.  Winter Session only.
MS/HS Baseball Catching
 All catching programs include extensive work in stances, receiving, framing, blocking, footwork, and throwing.  Bring your own gear.

Strength & Performance Training (SAPT) of Fairfax is offering a free physical assessment and $35 discount on their 8-week training program (16, one-hour sessions) to all middle school and high school players enrolled in VBC winter or spring training programs.  SAPT customizes each work out for the needs of the individual player to improve structural integrity (injury prevention), movement patterns, strength levels, power output, agility, mobility, flexibility, coordination, balance, rhythm, spatial and kinesthetic awareness, reactivity and more.

April-May

In-Season MS/HS Hitting

Lead Instructor is Coach Steve Mrowka, former Head Coach at George Washington University.  This program meets once a week for 60 minutes. Players will rotate through the cage stations with a focus on visual tracking, pitch-speed adjustments, upper body mechanics, and lower body mechanics. Hitting techniques are applied appropriately to individual's style of hitting, strength, and body type. Players are grouped by age and skill level. 4:1 ratio in each class. Class meets April 8-May 13 (8 weeks.)
